Camp Mount Hebron- Guatemala
Mount Hebron Camp was established in the southwestern tropical area of Guatemala for the purpose of providing a place for Christian growth and fellowship for people of all ages. It has been used for children’s and youth camps, conferences and short term institutes. Those attending the camp are challenged to deepen their walk with Jesus Christ, and though its ministry, many of the participants have become involved in Christian service. The camp is administered by a committee of leaders from the regional Central American churches.
In March of 2010, Holy Faith Episcopal and Sandia Presbyterian sent a team of 10 volunteers from their respective churches to do hands- on repair work on the camp infrastructure. The team was led by Tom and Deborah Simon of Holy Faith. Each volunteer paid their own way. The volunteers and members of the two churches donated funds to purchase the materials that would be needed for the construction. The team was hosted by the Galilea church of San Pablo, San Marcos, which provided food and lodging. The Galilea church heartily welcomed the team with a concert by its many choirs and musical groups. Pastor David Casson of the Sandia Presbyterian church preached at the Sunday morning service.
The team traveled each morning to the remote camp Mt. Hebron site and worked alongside members of the regional Guatemalan churches to build two new cabins, repair some older cabins, work on the water system and remove trash. In the process of improving the camp facilities, the team developed friendships with their Guatemalan brothers and sisters. Team members visited some of their homes, participated in their youth meeting, worshipped together and enjoyed time of recreation with them. In the process their faith was challenged and strengthened by the experience.
As Norm, one of the team members, put it, “Thanks, thanks, thanks for the mission trip we just completed. I have been on many mission trips but never with the outpouring of love that we received. This is one of the top things- emotionally, physically and spiritually that has happened to me in my life, all 78 years of it”. It was indeed a joy to share of love of God beyond our own borders.
For further information about his ministry please contact Tom & Deborah Simon or Ray & Martha Wallace.

Education and Prayer
We will focus on how our God is a missionary God and how He wants us involved with Him. Through an exciting and informative display of mission materials once a month plus the availability of International Mission speakers for adults and children, the entire parish will participate in God's purpose to bless all peoples so that Christ will be served and glorified among all people groups.
We welcome all interested parishioners, to join our group and become part of God's call on His people. And to the children of our parish we welcome you to come and join us as we meet God on the mission field.
