A Little History
The Church of the Holy Faith has witnessed to the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the community of Santa Fe for well over one hundred thirty years, beginning as a "house church" in 1863. Just two blocks east of the Santa Fe plaza, the first structure was built in 1881, with many additions and renovations in the years since, including work by renowned artists Gustave Bauman and John Gaw Meem. One of the first dressed-stone structures in Santa Fe, with beautiful stained glass and the finest pipe organ in northern New Mexico, our surroundings enhance our worship with beauty offered to the glory of God.
Over the years we have had many members who were famous and/or infamous for their influence locally, statewide, and nationally, both in the church and government. Holy Faith has a very colorful and interesting history, which you may eventually wish to read about in several books published about this church and easily found in the parish library.
